What is Waterjet?
The technologies use the principle of pressurizing water to extremely high pressures, and allowing the water to escape through a very small opening (typically called the "orifice" or "jewel"). Water jets use the beam of water exiting the orifice (or jewel) to cut the material.
Abrasive jets use that same beam of water to accelerate abrasive particles to speeds fast enough to cut through much harder materials
Application of waterjet
HP waterjet cutting is realized by waterjet with great kinetic energy and high speed. It belongs to high energy beam category as well as laser, ionic beam, electron beam. Among them HP waterjet cutting is the only processing technology which is made in cold state. As a high and new technology, to some extent, it is a revolution in cutting field.
Currently HP waterjet cutting is mainly applied in below areas.
Ø Application in metallic material cutting
